HCG Weight Loss Program

Published on 02/23/11

There are so many people that are looking into and participating in HCG weight loss programs. I feel that health is so precious and if you have ever lost someone to a disease, especially one that could have been prevented, you also realize how fragile our health is and how easily it can be taken away. It is life changing to lose someone close to you and then realize that maybe the fad diets to “look good” are not the reason to release weight. A reason to do a weight loss program should revolve around something that will keep you on track for the long haul.

Now about HCG weight loss programs, there is no scientific evidence that support weight loss claims to my knowledge. I understand that studies can be swayed to any opinion and I am not interested in taking a stance that could be disproved tomorrow. One thing I do know applies to any weight loss program is that it MUST implement a lifestyle change that the client is willing and able to live by MOST of the time.

The problem with HCG is that you are required to live on 500 calories and this is not something you are going to maintain for a long period of time and in my opinion it is not something you should do for any period of time. If you have ever struggled with your weight, which I am assuming you have if you are reading this, you have also struggled with having a healthy relationship with food. You have felt deprived on various diets, you have felt not good enough, you have felt like a failure, you have felt like you have no will power, you have gone OVERBOARD on a health kick only to go too far the other way and gain all the weight back and more. Can you see how restricting yourself in this way will have an emotional effect that will not serve you in the long term. What if there was an easy way to be healthy and look good that did not require hundreds of dollars and unrealistic diets.

My concern is for the people who come off the HCG weight loss programs and do not have a realistic plan to live a healthy lifestyle. These people need a lifestyle that does not require them to be deprived… but empowered to live their abundant and healthy life. I realize that people are suppose to follow a reasonable diet after the HCG weight loss program, however, how are people suppose to do that if they do not know how? If their motivation is to just lose some weight… they have not committed to a lifestyle change which means they will be going back to get the HCG over and over again. This is great for business but bad for people and their health and their pocketbooks.

Do not look for the quick fix but for a solution that will allow you to play with your grandchildren and have the energy to do what you want to do. Whether you are coming off the HCG weight loss program or you are considering it, please make sure you have a healthy lifestyle program that you have already committed to prior to taking any drastic measures. If you do you will see that you do not need to spend your money on a magic cure but you can be empowered to release the weight as so many before you have! We are here to support you in doing just that!

Adding to your concern with the hCG weight loss diet I wanted to say that I went to a seminar where a panel of experts spoke neutrally about what hCG was and then spoke to their concerns about people doing the diet. This panel consisted of doctors, dietitians, personal trainers, and so on.

There were 2 things they said that everyone should consider before doing any diet program.

The first was, you should never do something that you can't do for life!! Cudos to The Healthy Edge for being a lifestyle program.

The second was, going on any diet that is restrictive doesn't address the original reason the person had a weight issue, which can lead to eating disorders if they weren't already present. Again, cudos to The Healthy Edge for implementing the audios which address our emotional well-being.

It made me very proud to be associated with a program that directly addressed these experts advice and concern for people seeking help with their health.

I wanted to just stand up and shout out, "Come to The Healthy Edge, it deals with both these issues!"
