Get Off Your Diet & Change Your Life!

Published on 01/11/10

Seventy Percent of Americans are overweight or obese BUT beware if you want to do something about it! Ninety-eight percent of dieting programs fail! WOW! That really motivates me to want to get out there and lose some weight!

What if it is true that it isn’t your lack of “willpower” or “motivation” that is keeping you trapped inside a body that doesn’t fit? What if the truth is that it isn’t your fault that you can’t “just say no” to the daily double shot grande mocha latte and Crispy Crème donuts?

Seventy-five percent of Americans cannot lose weight due to a nasty little thing called Insulin Resistance which includes all of the symptoms above as well as daily fatigue, the extra “tire” around the belly and night time binge eating. You know what I am talking about with the binge eating. You get home from work and let the hoarding begin! Your stomach is a bottomless pit that never seems to feel full and the more you eat, the more you want and it isn’t a piece of broccoli or a head of lettuce! Listen carefully! It’s not your fault (to a certain extent) that you are out of control with food, weight, your moods and your health.

Here’s the disclaimer (of course)! Previous actions are to blame for the addiction and malfunction going on in your body and you chose to do those actions, but I am almost positive that you didn’t know the ramifications of your actions! I am also going to guess that you weren’t told before your last “diet” purchase that these were the long term side effects after you failed. Oh, I forgot the most detrimental side effect, your SELF ESTEEM! What a blow to your ego when you desire something, but no matter what method you choose, you can’t get it or sustain it!

Insulin Resistance is your body’s partial inability to respond to insulin. For those of you a little lost, insulin is the hormone that is released when sugar is absorbed into your blood stream. Sugar is the “fuel” for your cells! It is like wood on a fire and your body has to have it to function properly. Sugar has to have a carrier to get into the cells to be used and that carrier is insulin. So you see, insulin is kind of a big deal! When we abuse our insulin, our body becomes “deaf” to insulin. This means that the cells do not recognize the insulin and therefore will not take sugar into the cells. Well, if the body can’t use it…you guessed it! It stores it! And guess where? FAT AROUND THE MIDDLE! Yuck! Yikes!

What does abuse look like? Here’s the truth and some of you are going to crap when you realize that what you thought you were supposed to do in your dieting program to lose weight can actually cause you to gain weight! A dieting program in which you are drastically reducing your calorie intake will contribute. Dieting programs in which you are consuming abnormal amounts of proteins, carbohydrates and fats (AKA: The Atkins Diet) will do it. Skipping meals like breakfast or going to long periods of time (over 3 hours) without eating will do it! Certain medications can be a culprit as well as STRESS! Consuming highly processed foods like prepackaged meals in boxes and bags in your cupboard and freezers! Sounds like every diet I have ever been on! Calm down, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

There is a way to RELEASE weight permanently and regain your self esteem, energy, sound sleep, sanity and control. By the way, we don’t want to lose weight! If you lose something you will subconsciously try to “find” it again. Here’s the secret. Listen closely. It’s brilliant! CHOOSE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE! If you learn real principles to healthy living, you will release the weight and feel the best you have ever felt. It’s a lifestyle people! It’s not a diet plan…it is a whole way of living that involves how you make decisions from shopping, cooking, exercising, drinking water, choosing supplements and being kind to your ego. Do you not know if you are on a diet or a lifestyle? Ask yourself this question, (if you don’t have a child, pretend) Would you recommend what you are doing to your eight year old child? There’s your answer.
